Meet the Flakes!

I'm enjoying my time off from work by doing what I really love---CREATING!!!  For the pfattmarketplace.com this month, I've made two more snowfolks--The Flakes.  The best part about this couple of snowfolks--they won't melt anything but perhaps your heart.  I hope you'll join us on July 10 at 1:00 pm eastern time for our unveiling.  I'm sure the trip will bring smiles to your face with all of the amazing artists' offerings. 

 

I am finally able to get back into my blog!  AND it's about time I started to update it!  I'm happy to say that I am still creating, although at a slower pace since I started working full time.  I haven't been on EBay for sometime, but I'm still on the pfattmarketplace.com.  This month is Christmas in June and I've created a new SnowGal.  This too, is something I haven't done for a while, but I had so much fun creating her.  She will make her debut on June 10 at 1:00 p.m. eastern time.  I hope you'll take a peek at her!  Please drop me a line if you can.  I'm excited to get back to my blog!

Civil War Santa on Ebay

My first Santa for Ebay this season is coming on tonight at 10:15 pm Eastern time.  Hope you'll take a peek.  I cannot believe it's almost that time again!  Although the economy has pushed me outside of the home to take a part time job, I have a few more Santa's to finish up.  Hopefully, I can get them all finished!!!!  I'm sure glad we had an extra hour to our day this past Sunday!  ~ Debbie

SANTA TIME AGAIN!!!

So Happy to Be Making Santas!!!!  It may be fall and the leaves are getting prettier by the day, but that only means Christmas is just around the corner.  This is my first Santa for 2013.  He's making his debut tomorrow on the PfattMarketplace.com .  Hope you'll come visit!  Remember not till 1:00 pm Eastern Time.  ~Debbie

Burlap Wreath

A couple of weeks ago, I made this burlap wreath.  I saw some on pinterest.  I finally finished it today by putting a black & silver bow on it.  The wreath is really easy and fun to make.

WHY WOULD WE EVER FORGET

 

For many years, my husband and I have driven past the grounds where this impressive statue stands.  It is on the way to one of our favorite antique malls in Emmitsburg, MD.  You can't see this from the road, and the facilities are taken care of by FEMA.  Firefighters are trained there.  So we made a U-Turn and entered the street and were greeted by armed guards.  They took our drivers licenses and kept them while we were given a map and told how to go back to see the statue as well as all of the names imprinted in the bricks that you have to walk on to get to the site.  We were told "DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE".  You can best believe we followed their instructions.  We had no idea this place was so secure.  When you see this unbelievably large beautiful statue, you can't help but feel overcome with emotions remembering that day.  I can't put it into words.  It was a very moving experience.  How and WHY would we ever forget that horrific day?  How can we forget how our world was changed?  I can't imagine how many lives have been changed forever because of these acts of terrorism.  I'll bet there are too many for statisticians to count.

New Updates for June on the pfattmarketplace.com 
Today is June 10 and the site will update at 1:00 eastern time, 10:00 pacific time. Life's about change, so they say and I've changed my so-called studio location 2 times now and have finally figured out what will work best for me at our new house.  Yep, I've been driving the guys crazy asking them to move desks for me!  But now that we're settled in, its nice to feel like I can get back to somewhat of a routine in my doll making.  Hope you'll click on over to see more pictures of Uncle Sam and Liberty Angel. Who knows, maybe I can get back to listing on EBay this month!  ~Debbie

Happy Spring!  Oh and it was a loooong winter here in Northern Virginia!  We've had snow in April and now we're having record breaking heat in the upper 80's!  Did I ever mention that we relocated back to Northern Virginia?  We bought a house near the Bull Run Mountains which happens to be 1/2 the drive for my dear husband to work.  It feels good to be back in this area.  We moved in the middle of February after renting in our old neighborhood for 6 months.

Now that we're in here, I've been trying to get set up to paint and sew.  I'm almost there, but still running up and down the stairs to hunt for supplies as I need them.  I was able to put a little something on pfattmarketplace.com last month and some more detailed projects this month.  Hope you'll check out the site this month and enjoy your April. ~Debbie

BEFORE SANDY---

Thought I'd get in here and post a couple of pictures of Buddy I took on Friday.  We just got Buddy about 5 months ago, and we're working on lots of little things with this former "mill doggie".   He really doesn't want to come in the house when I want him to.  I call him and he just stares at me.  If I walk into the house, he will just sit--wherever he was --just sit!  I don't take my eyes off of him and although I wish he would come in without me going to pick him up--its so funny to see him "just sit" where he was.  He's a funny little guy and gives us our dose of laughter every day. 

We're preparing as much as possible for Sandy and praying that everybody in her path stays safe.  Hope she can tell she's not welcome and goes back to sea.  We're close to Dulles IA, so whatever you see happening there is probably what's happening at our house.  Every body's prayers are appreciated!
